A safe space to heal, grow, and reclaim your strength.

A welcoming therapy space
  • Do your relationships allow you to be yourself?
  • Are you setting healthy boundaries in your relationships?
  • Are you struggling to find your way through grief after a loss?

When your relationships are weighing on you, everything else can start to feel heavier, too.

Sarah Swensen, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I believe you already carry the strength — my role is to help you find it.

Hi! I’m Sarah Swensen and I am an affirming & empowering therapist who is located in Nashville, TN. I specialize in unhealthy relationships, family issues and grief & loss. My goal as your therapist is to help you discover your inner strength, navigate life’s challenges with confidence, and foster healing in a safe, compassionate environment.

Here’s how I can help

My specialties.

Unhealthy Relationships

Relationships can be complicated, especially when you find yourself constantly putting someone else’s needs ahead of your own. I work with individuals who are navigating codependent, toxic, or unhealthy relationships and are ready to understand why they keep getting stuck in the same patterns. Together, we’ll talk through what’s happening, work on setting healthy boundaries, rebuild your confidence and sense of self, and figure out what you truly want and need from your relationships.

Family Issues

Family relationships can be some of the most meaningful—and sometimes the most complicated—relationships in our lives. I work with individuals who are struggling with difficult family dynamics, communication challenges, conflict, or patterns that have developed over time. Together, we’ll work to better understand these dynamics, identify what you can and can’t control, and develop healthier boundaries and ways of communicating.

Grief & Loss

Grief has a way of changing us, and losing someone or something that mattered deeply to us can leave us feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward. I provide a safe, compassionate space where you can talk honestly about your loss and all of the emotions that come with it—without judgment and without feeling like you have to “be okay” before you’re ready. Together, we’ll work through the grief at your own pace, find ways to cope with the difficult days, and make space for healing while honoring the person, relationship, or chapter of your life that you’re grieving.

Where to start.

Schedule a free phone consultation to discuss your individual needs, concerns, and the challenges you may be experiencing. From there, we can build a plan to help you feel more secure in your choices, feel empowered, and live a more fulfilling life.

My goal isn’t to tell you what you should do — it’s to help you feel supported, empowered, and confident enough to make choices that are right for you.

For clinicians

Clinical supervision.

I provide individual clinical supervision to Master’s-level social workers working toward LCSW licensure. My goal is a supportive, collaborative space where supervisees can strengthen clinical skills, build confidence, and navigate the challenges of providing therapy — including case consultation, clinical skill development, ethical decision-making, and professional growth.

You don’t have to navigate difficult relationships and life’s challenges alone. I’m here to help you work through what’s weighing on you and find a healthier way forward.
